Top 5 Christmas Gift Wrapping Ideas

With Christmas right around the corner, I decided it's probably the perfect time to post my personal list of favourite ways to wrap gifts, especially for this festive season!
I LOVE to play around with gift wrapping ideas and concepts - no matter the occasion. I think that no matter the gift, however simple, great wrapping and presentation really can add to the value of the gift. I won't lie, if someone were to ask me what my strengths / skills are, I would 100% say wrapping gifts, and yes, I would say this with a dead-straight serious face, because that's how much I love to do it.
SO, with that little bit of wrapping-bragging out the way, let me share my list of the best (in my opinion) gift wrapping ideas that I have done in the past, that I think you can easily recreate this Christmas to add a special touch and value to your presents.
1. Hand Stamped Wrapping

This is by far easier than it may seem. You can do this two ways, either you can purchase a stamp from your nearest craft/art store with some ink and go to town with stamping. OR if you want to DIY even more so, you can actually carve a shape of your choice out of a halved potato, and use that as a stamp with the ink!
To go even simpler - if you find the shape too difficult, you can even just take the back of a pencil, and dip it in some white paint, and stamp polka dots all over your wrapping paper!
2. Fabric Wrapping

Fabric wrapping, or rather its traditional name Furoshiki, is the Japanese way of wrapping gifts or personal belongings in special cloth, which not only looks pristine and elegant - but it can be re-used, so making it a green / eco-friendly gift too.
This, besides being reusable (we love) has also been successful for me as it adds to the gift, because the receiver can keep the cloth for whatever use the type of fabric allows. ie if you wrap it in a satin or silk the receiver can keep the cloth as a hair scarf, OR if you wrap it in a new cute dish towel, then the reciever can use it in their kitchen!
3. Initial Tags

These cute little tags again can be executed two ways; either you can buy letters like these at your nearest craft/art store, OR you could get to DIY-ing and hand cut letters, lather them in glue and glitter and slap them onto your gifts.
These letters are a great way to personalise gifts, and, when you're giving so many presents at Christmas, it really comes in handy to keep track of who's gift is who's.
4. Wool Pompoms

This is a technique that is slightly more on the effort side, however it is totally doable! This particular wrapping of mine as done for Christmas last year, and I had such great feedback for it.
I have found a Youtube video to help you to make these wool pompoms by yourself, which really adds an elegant, snowy touch to your gift.
5. Cookie Tags

Again, this one does take more effort, but reeeally pays off in the end! All you'll need to do is bake a batch of sugar cookies 1 or 2 days before Christmas day and then on Christmas eve attach them to your gift ribbons.
If you don't have a good recipe, hang in there, I am going to be posting my favourite and most reliable Christmas sugar cookie recipe on the blog very soon! ;)
