A day at Babylonstoren

Recently my partner and I celebrated our anniversary at the incredible farm and gardens of Babylonstoren. I myself have been there a handful of times, but something about this round made it so magical. Don't get me wrong, every time spent at Babylonstoren is magical, but there was just a refreshing and relaxing feeling of going during these uncertain times of being in a constant state of lockdown.

(The farm itself adhered to all the Covid-19 regulations, and although it's not depicted in the pictures, we wore our masks as we walked in between the gardens).

The sun felt so good on the skin, and as we walked through the gardens, the site of undisturbed nature really did wonders for our city-like minds full of thoughts and busyness. If I were to recommend a day out to anyone, I would highly recommend visiting the farm of Babylonstoren.

Mighail and I took our time to walk around the first half of the garden, and then around lunchtime decided to nestle down for a spot of coffee and food, and boy, were we happy. We chose a little table underneath a tree just outside of the beautiful glass greenhouse, and the service we got was impeccable. We had never visited any of the restaurants at the farm before, only walked the gardens, so this was a real treat and surprise. The coffee, which is always a huge interest to us, was amazing, consisting of the perfect espresso shot and frothed milk, and the food was just as satisfying, arriving in beautiful wooden boxes and printed paper.

I, being a stationary and design fanatic, was so impressed and excited about the continuous attention to detail, as the menus and food parcels all matched in Babylonstoren's customised print. Once we ate what were more than generous portions, Mighail and I headed through the second half of the gardens and finally made our way back out to the car.

All in all it was an amazing day, that we regret took us so long to get round to doing this year of 2020, and we cannot wait for the day that we can stay as guests for a weekend at such an amazing space! (fingers crossed we can one day get there and be living our Babylonstoren weekend guest dreams).
