Ireland is full of gorgeous lush fields, rolling hills and friendly people! I would recommend taking a road trip through the countryside of Ireland to get the full, scenic experience. To help you pinpoint the best small towns/villages to see, I have complied a list of the cutest places we travelled to during our 2 month stay in Ireland!

1. Kilkenny

This is a small Medieval town based in the Southeast of Ireland. It boasts an array of picturesque streets and shops, as well as the famous Kilkenny Castle, which was built in 1195!

2. Chashel

Cashel is a small town in the South of Ireland that is home to the amazing Rock of Cashel castle ruins. The castle sits on a hilltop overlooking the town, giving beautiful panoramic views of the surrounds.

3. Blarney

Blarney is a village just outside of the city of Cork, and is a beautiful town full of stonewalls and expanding parklands and walking trails. In Blarney you will find the incredible Blarney Castle & Gardens, which is a great must-see!

4. Dingle

Dingle is a small port town on Ireland's Southwest Dingle Peninsula. This waterside town is beautiful and offers amazing scenes of both grasslands and the seaside. In Dingle there is a harbour where you can enjoy fresh sea air and many restaurant options.

5. Inis Mor/ Inishmore

This is a bit of a isolated village that is set on the Aran Islands. If you are in county Galway I would highly recommend you take a ferry ride across to Inis Mor. The island itself is beautiful, and the raw, rugged and traditional Irish scenes are worth the ferry ride there! You can hire bikes and see where the famous Dún Aonghasa cliffs are.
