A Romantic Getaway: The Lavender Farm Guest House

"What better way to end the day than to retire to the comfort your luxurious room." The Lavender Farm is situated in the heart Franschoek, against a backdrop of a beautiful mountainous range. This statement stands true to the farm, as the rooms are the epitome of comfort and luxe.

What makes this farm stand out the most is the 3 hectare lavender field set in front of the accommodation. If, like me, you are a sucker for any kind of flower field, then this is the place for you!

The Accommodation

At the Lavender Farm Guest House you can choose from an assortment of rooms/suites. Although the all the suits are close by, the best option to be living right in front of the lavender field are the 'Lavender View Suites.' Here, you are right at the doorstep of the beautiful smelling 3 hectare fields. When Mighail and I stayed there, these are the suites we chose.

Each of these suites have en-suite bathrooms, a living area with a TV and a double bed. The suites also have their own private verandah's overlooking the fields.

There are so many options when it comes to accommodation, as the farm provides space for a maximum of 28 guests around the property. Activities

The grounds of The Lavender Farm are serene, and the juxtaposition between the soft lavender fields and striking mountains behind is breathtaking. Because the farm is set slightly off from the main village of Franschoek, it offers a sense of peacefulness and exclusivity.

On the farm there is only a handful of activities offered, as the exaggeration for relaxing and unwinding is a prominent feature, however because the farm is set in Franschoek, there are so many activities one can go to do and come back to the farm after a long day. With this being said, in my eyes, the farm is a perfect romantic getaway. Although the farm doesn't offer adventurous activities on the property, the world of the Cape Winelands is right at the doorstep! If you are like me, who prefers a more low-key vacation full of lazy days and placid activities, then what the farm has to offer is perfect for you! Their activities include:

💜Full Access to the Lavender Fields. This made me very happy, because not only is the lavender right there, but the staff are so easy-going and you have full freedom to run around in the field and take as many pictures as you want!

💜A game of Pétanque in their French style courtyard (I know, you can live your vintage Parisian dream!)

💜A romantic picnic setup upon request in the lavender field (hello great engagement setup!)

💜A swim in their luxurious pool

Rating

The overall experience at the Lavender Farm was great, and although Mighail and I did not stay very long, it was nothing short of relaxing.

I am going to rate each getaway I blog about out of five bees (not stars, because let's get real, bees are my trademark).

Overall I would have to give this Romantic Getaway a rating of four bees 🐝🐝🐝🐝 out of five. I would rate this experience as good, and would recommend it to anyone needing a short stay accommodation, and someone who enjoys a quiet, low-key stay.
